Okay...I'm back....ahem. I have been all over this blog and I have found where I do come up short. I dear friend of mine commented I have way too many shoes.....sigh.
So..they some were past down to me and I have never payed full price....The fact is, I'll still buy them and stuff them in the closet.
I read the article about emotional spending and really saw myself. Although I have scaled down considerably and let go of so many material things I know I could do much better.
I remember as a child I used to love playing in old cardboard boxes, trees, making mud pies, and cooking with my mom. Chores were part of my day and then I was allowed to play. These toys cost nothing.
The toys kids get now a days cost so much....as we get older it cost more...cars, clothing, entertainment.
I'm glad for the wake up call. Now...as for these shoes....time to cease and desist.
Is anyone a size 5?

My parents taught me about saving money from when I was a child...I also hear if from my grandparents. The biggest impact was how we all lived. My grandparents came through 'The Great Depression' so they told my sisters and I about the value of a dollar, saving money, and what good credit meant. I really appreciated hearing about how they lived and the hardships they overcame....
It has an impact on how I look at money today.
I really hope we hear some history of people that have had to overcome great obstacles and survived during a difficult and treacherous economy.
Thanks again.

This is a great article. I am really convicted about my personal spending. I was a mortgage broker for decades often earning a six figure income. I spent money like water and when I was laid off and my career and industry crumbled before my eyes I really had to learn how to live.

At first I did not change my spending or savings habits. I lived on credit indulging my self as I had always done but over time I was forced to stop the spending when my cards were maxed and my credit lined closed due to declining real estate values.

That was a really hard adjustment for me and I am still in learning mode.

I have some savings that I dont touch unless its a life crisis but its not enough to sustain me over time and I am really ready to be like my grandparents and start saving for a rainy day.

I've been told but just never really thought the day would come when the cash cow would stop serving golden milk but it has.

I am looking for ways to save and improve my financial health.

I plan to start saving the little I get because its really a new priority as is reducing my personal spending.

Now when I go to a store, I have a spending limit and I may limit myself to one or two things not a cart full and $200 dollars worth of nothing... on sale at Ross.

Anyway,

Thanks for telling me the truth.

I need to save and spend less.

I'm doing it and can't wait for the In and Out Cash Management Program.

I really need this.
